Innovative graphic design collections
Founded by Pierre Hardy in 1999, the eponymous brand offers luxury shoes, bags, and accessories that combine elegance and comfort for both men and women. These collections are produced in limited editions in workshops specializing in high-end footwear and leather goods.
With more than 40 employees and 150 retailers worldwide, Pierre Hardy has boutiques in Tokyo and Paris. The brand, which has an online presence in Japan, Europe, and the United States, embodies the fusion of elegance and innovation.
Already a fan of the CMS Shopify Plus—used by the Japanese subsidiary—our experts advised the brand on selecting the right solution before being asked to carry out the platform redesign.
The project, carried out entirely using agile methodology, was divided into several sprints, allowing for ongoing updates on the project’s progress and greater efficiency. Launched in January 2023, the project went live in May— a five-month engagement!

Product Experience
A seamless user experience & a site with a clean, minimalist design
DATASOLUTION’s design studio created all of the graphic mockups, optimized for responsiveness to ensure they perform equally well on both desktop and mobile devices. The entire artistic direction was designed with a single, top priority for the brand in mind: to rejuvenate the company’s image.
Our creative experts have developed new visual styles, including the use of animated GIFs to bring movement and dynamism to the platform, as well as video content—particularly for showcasing new collections. All of this was done in accordance with CRO best practices, enabling us to maximize the site’s performance and, consequently, conversion rates.
The customer experience is at the heart of the project, and our UX/UI teams have created a mobile-first user journey that ensures a smooth and enjoyable browsing experience for all visitors, whether they’re accessing the site on a mobile device or a desktop computer. On the product page, for example, the product photos and videos are beautifully showcased. The little extra? The inclusion of a powerful zoom feature, allowing users to appreciate every detail of the garment or accessory being featured.
Our experts have opted for “sticky” content, which remains in place as the page is scrolled. What’s the point? Keep the “Add to Cart” and “Quick Buy” CTAs via Apple Pay visible at all times: a small detail that can increase add-to-cart and purchase rates.
Finally, at the bottom of the page, we see the implementation of a cross-selling feature—once again, using Shopify’s native options—as well as the browsing history. This helps visitors feel guided as they explore the PIERRE HARDY catalog.
Features
An international platform for an optimal experience
Our teams have also set up a dedicated online store for the U.S. market and another using Shopify Markets for France and Europe. This strategic approach ensures an optimal user experience internationally by redirecting visitors to the sites corresponding to their geographic location.
We have also implemented Shopify’s native features to enable in-store click-and-collect.
For the French and U.S. stores, the Shopify Payments module has been installed. This module allows customers to easily use innovative payment methods such as Apple Pay, PayPal, and Shop Pay.
All editorial content is managed natively through the CMS’s metafields.
Finally, integrating Shopify with the ERP system proved to be a challenge due to the lack of an available connector. Our Shopify experts therefore used a system that allows for the direct export of flat files from Shopify.
In particular, this makes it possible to efficiently synchronize orders, customers, and inventory.
We would like to thank Gaël and his teams for their trust in us on this project, and we are very pleased to support the PIERRE HARDY brand as it expands its online business!
