Develop a catalog website to deliver a customized user experience

A success story that began in Hong Kong

It was in this temple of technology that VTech’s first electronic educational toys were developed.

As VTech expanded into global markets, it established a presence in France in 1991 and quickly became the No. 1 brand in electronic educational toys, as it had in many other countries.

Animations to liven up the catalog site

We didn’t revolutionize VTech’s visual identity.

But we still revamped it to add a little pizzazz to their website. The idea was to highlight the electronic aspect while staying true to the world of childhood. To achieve this, we used colors that ranged from bright and vibrant to softer, pastel shades.

To make the whole thing more dynamic, we also added animations to the slider and when certain buttons are clicked.

A simple and functional interface

The header menu offers entries organized by age group. To allow parents to combine these age-based entries with their preferred brand universe, we designed a flexible, adaptable grid system.

As soon as visitors arrive on the site, we’ve set up a slider that showcases VTech’s various product lines. Each slide links to the brand’s description page. While they’re all built using the same template, the visual style is different for each one to clearly highlight their unique identities.

Inform and reassure parents

It was important to reassure parents about the safety of the toys and to inform them about how to use them. Educational and electronic toys can be quite complex.

There was a significant amount of information to include in each product page. So we opted for a menu that allows users to navigate the page using anchors. And to help users understand how the toys work, we created a section called “The Toy in Detail.”

On the right, an image shows the toy with numbered markers. When you click on one of them, the section on the right becomes active, displaying a photo and an explanatory text about the toy’s features.
