Co-creating Performance
For more than 170 years, Motul has been pushing the boundaries of performance alongside its partners, supporting their advancements in speed and technology across cutting-edge industries. Motul develops high-performance fluids that reduce friction to support essential technologies.
Motul has built a strong global presence to foster local relationships and stay close to its partners across 4 continents and in 160 countries. From racing engine oils to data centers, its formulations enable our partners to push the boundaries even further.
Improving the Customer Experience in B2B Distribution
With this platform, Motul wanted to give its distributors more autonomy in placing their orders and provide them with more product information.
Working Hand in Hand with Professionals
Our project for MOTUL began with the design of a fully B2B platform that would enable the brand to give its distributor customers greater autonomy in their purchasing, thereby eliminating the need for them to place orders by email or phone.
The platform was integrated with SAP for customer identification, product catalog management, inventory tracking, price retrieval, and order submission through the installation of WSO2 middleware, enabling two-way communication between the systems.
Today, orders are processed automatically by the system, which sends a feed directly to SAP when an order is approved. Users can now operate completely independently on the site. Our team has added a tab for viewing delivery notes and invoices.

Flexibility and Customization
The connector between SAP and Intershop was designed to meet MOTUL’s specific needs, integrating real-time modeling and pricing constraints from the ERP system and feeding them back to the front office.
Thanks to this connector, the website allows any professional to place an order in just a few clicks, view their order history, check their delivery slips, download their invoices, or simply reorder a previous order.
The platform has long-term plans for growth. Our team played a supportive role in providing assistance, advice, and helping to develop new features. One of the most recent developments is the country-by-country integration of promotions reserved for certain B2B customers, which are triggered based on specific parameters—such as cross-selling multiple products, the order total, or other requirements related to business lines, inventory, and products in progress.
