Omnicanal platform for 13 countries
Ekosport (https://www.ekosport.fr) began operations in 2007 by distributing an online range of alpine skiing equipment. Quickly recognized in the outdoor community for its expertise and excellent customer service, Ekosport becomes the leader in the sale of ski equipment and outdoor sports in France.
Ekosport wanted to deploy a new eCommerce platform to support its growing expansion on european markets. This platform should allow multi-country distribution and improve the customer experience. Ekosport has therefore chosen DATASOLUTION and Intershop 7, an omnichannel trading platform, to deploy its new site simultaneously in October 2014 in 13 countries including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
In 2015, Ekosport added the full outdoor product range to its catalog, and launched a new full responsive interface, in order to increase mobile commerce.
As a result, the turnover outside winter period was multiplied by 3.
Project key points :
- Develop product and activity range other than ski (running, climbing …), to limit the seasonality
- Manage high traffic peaks due to promotion periods (Black Friday, sales, private events …)
- Implementation of Click & Collect delivery with the possibility of configuring stores that can receive orders directly in the Intershop Back Office
- Addition of IHM for sellers allowing the change of order status : available in store, pick-up or return to store by simply entering the order number or bar code scan located on the package
