Big Moustache
Prestashop Big Moustache Website Redesign
Improving user experience
Big Moustache is the story of a startup born in 2013 with the delivery of razor blades to people’s homes. Today, the brand has thousands of subscribers, cosmetics made in France, barbershops in Paris, and the introduction of a range of solid products for the face and body.
For the past 4 years, we have been working with Big Moustache on updates to their website. And every day for the past 4 years, this project has kept us in good spirits!

Comb through user experience
Particular attention was paid to the ergonomics of the site to ensure a simple and enjoyable user experience. Regarding the overall structure, the alternating use of color blocks and white space creates a sleek page that emphasizes visuals. The top of the page has been reworked to be more impactful for users. This is reflected in a clearer and more comprehensive header:
- The search bar has been given greater prominence
- The contact number and F.A.Q. are easily accessible
- The cart and account are illustrated in the brand’s image and are more visible

Bestsellers and Purchase Journey
The slider at the top of the page sets the tone and allows users to immerse themselves in the world of Big Moustache. The bestsellers have been highlighted on a textured yellow background, which adds substance to the interface. With the aim of guiding users through their purchase journey, the banner “A routine for every hairy person” redirects users to products that meet their needs. Whether shaved, bearded, or mustachioed, each profile has a selection of products in kit or box form for a personalized shaving experience.
The Prestashop 1.6 to 1.7 migration
A necessary step, migrating to a new version of a CMS mainly allows for security vulnerabilities to be fixed. Modules are updated and become less and less compatible with old versions. Thus, the longer one waits to migrate, the more vulnerable the site is to cyber attacks and certain functionalities may become unavailable. Each migration involves starting almost from scratch at the code level. It is also an opportunity to update the site and make it evolve with the growth of the company. Big Moustache took advantage of this to redesign the site’s subscription plans.

The Big Moustache subscription
From now on, the subscription section is illustrated and presented in steps. First, our hairy client chooses between two types of razors. Then, they indicate their weekly shaving frequency. Based on the response, a function determines the appropriate number of blades for the next two months. Finally, two subscriptions are offered: a classic plan with blades + razor, and a plan with blades + razor + product of choice at an advantageous price. An optional cross-selling step offers complementary products on the first order.
Fully manageable modules
The Prestatemplate module allows the client to administer and modify most pages and menus independently. Currently online, the Christmas category created by the client can be deactivated as soon as it is no longer relevant. Once inactive, the links in this category will then redirect to the site’s homepage rather than a 404 error page.

A community on point
The installation of a token to create a shortcut to the Big Moustache Instagram account displays the latest posts alongside the #Bigmoustache hashtag. It’s a real incentive to join the community of 11,000 followers and follow the brand’s adventures.
